Placement Resources for Individuals with Disabilities/Disadvantages seeking Employment

Supported Employment: Our program assists individuals with various disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment. We provide a job coach for the workers we place, at no additional cost to the employers. This support is designed to ensure a smooth transition from our training, to becoming productive employees in any work place.

We pride ourselves in providing qualified individuals to Erie and Niagara Counties. We view our job as not only providing skilled, trained employees, but also to introduce the local community to a new and popular resource for finding capable people to build a future around.

I. Job Development and Job Coaching

Job Development: Trained professionals will assist individuals in finding competitive jobs in the community. Our staff can help participants create a resume, fill out job applications and practice interviewing techniques, such as searching on the internet, work ethic, appropriate dress, the importance of punctuality, attendance, etc.

The Job Developer may recommend participants for “Job Club”. This is an intensive, one week class from 8:30 am- 2:30 pm on job preparation, handling employment situations or problems on the job, etc. (For more information please look at the Job Club heading)

Job Coaching: Once the participant is placed in employment they will receive Job Coaching Services. The Job Coach is trained along with the participant at the job site and stays on the job site as long as assistance is needed. As the participant becomes more independent on the job, the Job Coach’s time diminishes. Afterward, monthly visits take place, as needed.

II. Employer Benefits

Job Matching: All participants are prescreened and evaluated as to what type of employment they would succeed in, as well as enjoy. Therefore, when a participant is recommended by the Job Developers, you can be assured that they are fully capable of being successful within that placement.

On-Site Training/Job Coaching: Any person hired from our agency receives job coaching services. This means, as an employer, you have the added advantage of having a personal trainer for your new employee, at no cost to you! This also means you have the added assurance that the job will get done and get done right.

Follow along Support: When an individual completes training and is independently doing well on the job, the Job Coach will then begin “follow along” support. The Job Coach makes monthly contact with the employer to ensure that the employee is satisfactorily performing all duties. The Job Coach also meets with the participant to address any concerns and ensure that the participant continues to succeed on the job. The job coach is available to the employer or participant at any time should the need arise.

Tax Credits: Tax Credits are available upon hiring. Please note that the tax credit availability is subject to change.
